Royal Family Kids Camp Thousand Oaks has service opportunities for everyone. Every role contributes to the success of camp, for the benefit of our campers! We recruit three types of volunteers: Full-Time, At-Home, and Part-Time Guests.
We are looking for 60 people to fill a variety of roles both leading up to and at camp from August 4-9, 2024. There are Full-Time, At-Home, and 1-Day Guest roles. Keep scrolling for a brief introduction to the kinds of jobs & the people involved in this special week!

AT CAMP Full-Time Volunteers
These volunteers will attend the entire week of camp (Counselors & all Support Staff)
- Counselor: Lead Campers in a meaningful week of camp
- Nurse: Implement total health care program at
- Camp Activity Center Coordinator: Prepare and run creative indoor activities and crafts that emphasize “process over product”
- Drama Team: Perform daily skits for Campers & assist in other areas
- Music Team: Lead music and music activities all week & assist in other areas
- Outdoor Activities Coordinator: Supervise/oversee organized games and field games and Coaches
- Outdoor Activities Coach: Plan and lead organized games and field games each day.
- Craftsman/Woodworker: Oversee woodworking projects & assist in other areas
- Hospitality: Support staff including supply Staff Room with snacks and amenities
- Camp Scribe: Listen and record Camper and Staff memories; observe and record daily activities.
- Photographer: Take a minimum of 12 photos of each camper for their Memory Book
- Digital Media Specialist: Process photos and create video/slideshow
- Video/Sound Tech: Operate sound equipment & assist in other areas
- Logistics Gopher: Fill in where needed!
Requirements:
Must be at least 18 years of age (Teens ages 16-17 will be considered)

AT HOME Volunteers
These volunteers will provide essential work to plan/prepare for camp or after camp, but do not attend camp.
- Prayer Warrior
- Volunteer Training Coordinator/Host/Setup
- Stage/Set Design
- Camp Decorations
- Camper Backpack Team
- Blankets for Campers
- Camp Champion (corporate sponsor/donor)
- RV/Motorhome Lender
- Golf Cart Lender
- Camper Registration
- Special Event Coordinators (girls tea party, boys themed party)
- “Welcome Home” Coordinator/Hosts/Servers for our volunteer banquet
Approved home volunteers will not need to complete an application, background check or training to participate in these ways.
1-Day Guest Volunteers
These are volunteers that will attend one day at camp (no overnights).
- Girls’ Royal Tea Party Volunteer
- Everybody’s Birthday Party Volunteer
- Boys Themed Party Volunteer
- Shoppers: Camp supply errands
- Camper Memory Album Team
- Share what you love with our campers: dance, music, art therapy, self-defense, sports, music, sewing/quilting workshops
